Cities in Hillsborough County FL
Temple Terrace is named after a type of orange. Can you imagine something in Florida named after something to do with an orange? If you can’t, then you really don’t know Florida. This is one of the first planned communities in the US. Planned communities are the ones where the streets are laid out ahead of town and homes and businesses decided on in advance. Then people move in and start making up their own minds and expanding so that the place starts to become a real town.
This is located less than 30 minutes to the north east of downtown Tampa and home to 20,000 people and continuing to grow. The downtown area originally designed in the 1920’s was never really developed due to the great depression, but in 2004 work got started on re-building a pedestrian friendly downtown and the work is continuing. Though it is one of the older planned communities, this town is sill alive and kicking. Do you have something to add about this City?
